It never ceases to amaze me how many Realtors are unaware of how many Federal Fair Housing Laws affect our daily business practices and sometimes in unexpected ways. Ever seen an advertisement from a Realtor stating “Lots of kids in area!” or this one perhaps…”Many Asian restaurants nearby” .
These statements may be considered a violation of Federal Fair Housing laws! As Realtors, we must be ever so careful to adhere to these very important Federal laws for not only could it potentially have steep consequences to our business but it is put in place so that ALL protected classes have a right to fair housing treatment and availability.
